Evaluation Services

To ensure that your website is designed according to acceptable standards for accessible website design you need to have your website reviewed by an expert.

Accessibility Review

Our initial review will help to quickly identify the scope of the accessibility status of your website including:

  • Checking compliance with NZ and/or International Web Standards.
  • Analyzing authoring techniques and identify reduced accessibility.
  • Selective page testing with assistive technologies.
  • Provide report outlining problems and recommendations.

Accessibility Evaluation

Following our initial Accessibility Review, a full evaluation can be undertaken which will include checking your website manually, checking compatibility with graphic and text browsers and a full source code examination.

We quality control the process and ensure that only the specific areas that need changing are highlighted, and then create a clear and actionable report with analysis of the changes that need to be made for your website to be compliant to the New Zealand Web Standards and Recommendations or the international WAI WCAG Priority 1 and Priority 2.

As part of a full evaluation, we run scenario based testing with users with a range of disabilities. This will include users with Motor, and Cognitive disabilities. The users are asked to attempt four simple tasks. Dependent on the project requirements, generalised tasks could simply include:

  1. Finding your organisation’s phone number.
  2. Finding your websites feedback page.
  3. Finding your websites accessibility page.
  4. Tasks specific to a website feature.
  5. Areas of concern that need investigation.
  6. General browse of website.

We document the outcome of the scenario testing and include the participants experiences in our report, we will make recommendations on issues raised and how to address them.

Involving people with disabilities is an important and effective method to ensure that your website is accessible by all.
